what's your experience with Mandelbulber vs Mandelbulb3d? i heard ppl said it renders faster but im not sure.
I almost downloaded bulber, but MB3D is fine at rendering on my setup, minus some bugs. MB3D doesn't take terribly too long, but it can error out with the wrong formula. Apophysis 7x does the same thing with certain variation plugin's like with the hex plugin. Math programs are slow because they dish out more data than your average usage of the calculator app on Windows. Rendering requires powerful systems with super cooling setups, like with the corsair enclosed water loop CPU coolers. I got a 240mm one on a 1150 i7.
