Thank you! I feel like I'm very slowly getting the hang of mixing, but I've still got far to go. He inspired me indeed! It has been really fun to compete this year. We will soon see how it goes, I guess!
Lookin forward for more stuff you guys gonna be collaborate :)
Edit. I fucking love the atmosphere. it's pure ear candy... this song is pro level... :O
Thanks for the cool review. It was a lot of fun doing it, and through this collab, I found an engineer that I would love to work with in the future. Brok is the man behind the mix and mastering.
Glad I wasn't the only James Rollins fan on this site. Man, Kowalski and his C4 balls, and terrible coffee.
bruh tje pengin
Salsa dance! Salsa chips! Salsa!
Damn, isn't this too light for your style? :O I was expecting dark and sad sounds.
Pretty awesome work. Curse the judges for failing ya.
Yes it is too light for my "style." It almost reminds me of elevator music if someone can actually dance a salsa in one. Reason being for its creation is that it serves as another demo that 8Dio will be releasing sometime soon. I wanted to prove to myself that I can learn any style if I wanted to so I decided to study Salsa for the first time. I suppose I could try to study Dubstep too, but I'm afraid if I did that, I would then have to throw my computer in the dumpster.
Woah this is something. I like how you stick to what you have strength in it instead of doing something risky. Good choice in the contest. Interesting chord progressions there. It's truly a beautiful and moving work, I do however think it stood out from your recent submissions, due to the complexity of this one. Not saying your other works weren't complex, they are very, but this one is well made together and it captures my emotion very well.
Your music often remind me of FF work of Nobuo Uematsu, I've found that speciality in a lot of your work and it's a really nice touch. I guess I just listened too much of your music, haha.
Good luck in the NGADM. Have a good weekend!
Thank you, dude!
I felt like every year (apart from the last round last year), I had tried my hand on experimenting with all kinds of genres and VSTs and instruments. I learned so much for that, and it was all totally worth it. But, this year I don't have as much time; I am teaching at a school atm for at least two more weeks (as part of my last practice period), when other teachers are observing my lessons. I felt like it's a good idea to stick with my strength.
Don't get me wrong though; I'm not staying within my comfort zone entirely; I try my hand at all kinds of new piano techniques and arrangements, and ofc, new kinds of compositions. I've had lots of fun so far, so if I pass this round, I might keep going with it! It takes quite a long time to compose on the piano too, especially since I want to be able to play all the compositions I make.
I'm glad you like the structure of this one, as it's definitely a bit different! And as you know, I take a lot of inspiration from Nobuo indeed ^____^
Thank you for the review, and for the listen!
Cinematic cyberpunk synthwave. Right on the money. Good luck on the NGADM. I do hope you can make it this time, you've made it this far.
Have you thought about using synthwave promotion Youtube channel for selective few of your work? It helps to boost your fans quite good.
This track is so amazing. I guess the synth were Massive, well done work on them.
Thanks so much! I have considered starting a YouTube channel, but I'm not sure how to take it further. And you guessed it, basically all Massive, Korg M1, and a tiny bit of Kontakt. :P
Tell me if this was live recorded? :O is this all programmed on a computer
Very sorry for the delayed response. The composition, audio design and anything was made with the computer. :P
If I rate this one, would it be self-voting?
Damn I missed this track... You such an amazing inspirational composer, I couldn't write something this majestic nowadays. Back then I had so much energy to do something like this.
I think you could still write somethkng like this! But it takes a lot of time :)
I'm quite busy at the moment, but we should collab again at some point in the future!
Marvellous as usual, with the crafty touch of your extraordinary style, sound design and stuff. The second segment though, that was chilling work. I love how you and Peter dominating the trailer demo scene. Things looking up well for you, even if you decided not to pursue music career. There is something about your track, not just dark, but the rhythmic beats of it is pretty unique. That brought your works out away from many other cinematic work I have heard. Also your mixing is top notch. I feel like I'm repeating this on every review I left on your work, but you have the creativity on sound design that very few people have, even those in the industry. And most importantly, you capture your audience's hearts, every time.
This is my first long review after 2 years, lol. I'm adding this to my long list of collection from your work. :D Glad to see you posting stuff again. Welcome back!
I'm glad to be back and that you're still here. Still have fond memories from 2013 that it's a little sad looking back not to relive some of those magical days with some of the veterans that no longer come. I'm just glad that there are still a few around.
Regarding the music, your production and poly rhythms are so enjoyable that I wanted to incorporate some of that. Still isn't quite your style, but your music inspired me nonetheless.
And of course your comments are not taken for granted, and it's always reassuring. You mentioned it in a post about being yourself in music. Too often we compare ourselves to professionals that we begin to doubt that our own voice could possibly be heard.
It's so beautiful :O
Indeed, ACAB and bash the fash.
Thanks a lot I'm really glad you liked it! :D
And yeah, acab and bash the fash as always ;)
If you can't reach me in time for permission, feel free to go ahead use my work anyway.
